Oilers Football Receives Votes in National Poll

The University of Findlay football team received three votes in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) NCAA Division II preseason poll, which was released on Aug. 18.

The Oilers finished last season with an 8-3 record and were one of six teams from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) to receive votes in the poll.  Grand Valley State University received the most votes and are ranked second in the nation. Ohio Dominican University meanwhile also showed up in the top-25, ranking 13th.

Saginaw Valley State University, Ferris State University and Michigan Technological University were the other teams besides Findlay to accumulate votes in the poll.

The Oilers will open their season on Sep. 6 at home against Hillsdale College. The league game is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. in Donnell Stadium.
