Youth Football Players to Receive FREE Admission on Saturday

The University of Findlay football program is inviting all area Youth Football players and their families to attend their game against 4th-ranked Ferris State on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Donnell Stadium.

All players who attend the game in their jerseys will receive FREE admission. Parents of the players will receive a discounted price of $5 for reserved seats.

The Oilers are 3-1 on the year and are facing a 3-0 Ferris State squad led by quarterback Jason Vander Laan, the reigning Harlon Hill Trophy award winner. The Harlon Hill Trophy is given annually to the best NCAA Division II player and is the equivalent of the Heisman Trophy.

Sophomore quarterback Rhys Gervais has led the Oilers through the first four games and leads the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) in passing yards per game at 388.8. He has completed 102-of-157 (65.0%) passing attempts with 14 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

Gervais ranks second nationally in passing yards per game (388.8) and total passing yards (1,555). He also ranks third in passing touchdowns (14) and fourth in total offense (392.8).

Gervais leads the conference in passing yards, total passing yards and passing touchdowns. He ranks third in the GLIAC in total offense.
