Chukwuneke Named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week

Red-shirt freshman defensive back Chiebuka Chukwuneke was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 9 for his performance in the Oilers 49-17 win over Malone.

Chukwuneke recorded five tackles in the win, which included one sack. He also forced two fumbles, scooping up one of them and returning it 20 yards for a touchdown.

The Edison, N.J. native has racked up 50 tackles on the year, which includes 3.5 tackles for a loss. He has broken up five passes, forced three fumbles and recorded an interception.
