Gervais Named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week

GLIAC Release

Findlay, OH – Junior quarterback Rhys Gervais has been named as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Saturday's 58-13 win over Lake Erie.

In the contest, Gervais completed 20 of 26 passes for 324 yards. It was the eighth time in his career he has thrown for more than 300 yards in a game, a Findlay record. The Puyallup, WA native also tossed five touchdown passes in the game to four different receivers. It is the third time in his career he has thrown for five TDs in a game. The only other Oilers player to throw five touchdowns in a game was Bo Hurley who did so against Taylor in 1997.

What makes Gervais' performance all the more impressive is the fact that he played just one half of football since his performance gave the Oilers a 35-0 lead at halftime.

This is the second time in his career that Gervais has won GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. His first was last season in Week 11.
