The Oilers will host the 3-2 Hillsdale College Chargers on Saturday, October 15 at Donnell Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00pm.

The Series
The Oilers have a 9-16 record all-time against the Chargers in a series that dates back to 1925. The most recent meeting between the teams came in the first game of last season, a game in which Findlay came away with a 46-38 win in Hillsdale, Mich.
Head Coach Rob Keys
Head coach Rob Keys is in his sixth season at the helm of the Oilers football program in 2016. He has recorded a 34-25 record with the program as a head coach, which includes a 30-24 mark in GLIAC games.

The Oilers
The Oilers head into week seven of the season and the third straight home game after dropping a 37-21 decision to GLIAC opponent Wayne State. The loss gives Findlay a 2-3 record and dropped the Oilers to fourth in the GLIAC South Division and is the fourth loss in five games. That loss marked the third time this year the Oilers have dropped a game at home, the first time since 2010 that the Orange and Black have dropped three or more home contests.
In the first quarter, junior Rhys Gervais surpassed Bo Hurley, who threw for 4,835 yards from 1994-1997, to become the all-time leading passer in Findlay history.
Findlay brings the second best passing offense to the field as they are throwing for 307.2 yards per game while completing a league-leading 145 passes. This offense is producing 28.8 points per game which is good for sixth in the conference.
Punter Patrick Rusher has been outstanding for the Oilers as he has punted the ball 16 times for 606 yards and has not allowed a return all season. The punt defense of zero yards is best in the conference and fourth-best in the country.

The Chargers
The Hillsdale College Chargers have begun the year with a 3-2 record overall with a 2-2 mark in GLIAC play. They are currently in sixth place in the North Division of the GLIAC.
Hillsdale's offense is powered by the play of their sophomore quarterback Chance Stewart. He is throwing the ball for 303.5 yards per game in four games, the second-best YPG average in the conference. However, he does see some split time as junior quarterback David Ritchie has seen the field in every game this season and freshman quarterback Steven Ficyk was the starter in the week 3 game at Tiffin.
The Chargers have run 341 offensive plays this season, 155 of which have been running plays (.454).
Sophomore Joe Reverman, who was last season's GLIAC Freshman of the Year and second team all-GLIAC, is having another tremendous season as he is the leagues fourth leading rusher at 98.0 yards per game. He has scored five touchdowns, good for fifth in the league, on 105 rushes, fourth-best in the league. He is also dangerous as a kick returner as his 290 kick return yards are sixth in the league. With these numbers, he leads the league in all-purpose yards per game with 169.0. His 133 yards rushing against Michigan Tech are a season-high.
Defensively, sophomore Wyatt Batdorff is the leading tackler with 41 tackles, 25th in the conference. He made a season-high 13 tackles in the Chargers week four win against Michigan Tech.

Record Watch: Rhys Gervais
In his second year as the Oilers signal caller, Rhys Gervais already has his name all over the Findlay record books. Last year he set multiple season records; passing yards (3,353), completions (228), pass attempts (362), total offense (3,439), and passing touchdowns (33).
After this outstanding first season, Gervais' name can also be found in the career record book, as well. He is currently fourth at UF with 583 pass attempts and is chasing the mark of 608 set by Bo Hurley (1994-97) for third. He is second in pass completions with 367 and again, could move into the top spot as Gervais is just 20 completions shy of Kevin Crooks' (2001-04) mark of 387.
Perhaps most impressive is the amount of yards Gervais has thrown for in his short time as the quarterback. On October 8 against Wayne State, Rhys passed Bo Hurley to become the school's all-time leading passer. Gervais currently has 5,145 passing yards.
Gervais also sits in sole possession of second all-time at UF for touchdown passes in a career. He currently has 49 and is chasing Bo Hurley who threw 57 touchdowns from 1994-1997.
Record Watch: Dylan Blunk
Senior wide receiver Dylan Blunk ranks fourth all time at Findlay with 137 receptions after leading the team last year with 65 receptions. He can quickly move into third and second place, needing to reach 139 to pass Jeff Rowe (2000-03) and RIck Hatfield (1976-79), who each caught 138 balls in their careers, and needs to reach 150 to pass Seth White (2011-13), who caught 149 balls, for second.
Blunk is also nearing the top in receiving yards in a career as he currently ranks eighth all-time with 1,714 yds. To reach the top five, Blunk needs to get to 1,942 yards to tie Mike Chambers (2008-09).
GLIAC Preseason Poll: The Oilers were picked to finish fourth in the GLIAC South Division this year, receiving 13 total points in the annual coaches poll. They trailed Tiffin University (19), Ohio Dominican(19) and Ashland University (25) in the South Division poll.
Grand Valley State University was tabbed as the favorite to win the North Division as the Lakers, ranked third in the country to begin the season, racked up a league-high 47 points.
