Findlay Hosts Northwood in Final Home Game
The Game
Findlay will host Northwood University on Saturday, Nov. 5 for their final game of the year at Donnell Stadium. Kickoff will be at noon with the traditional honoring of the 2016 seniors happening prior to the game.

The Series
The Oilers trail in the all-time series with Northwood as they have posted a 9-12 record against the Timberwolves. Findlay won the first matchup in 1962 by a score of 70-0, the third-largest margin of victory by the Oilers in the history of the program. Head Coach Rob Keys
Head coach Rob Keys is in his sixth season at the helm of the Oilers football program in 2016. He has recorded a 36-27 record with the program as a head coach, which includes a 32-26 mark in GLIAC games.

The Oilers
The Oilers return to Findlay for their final home game of the season after a 28-17 loss at #2 Grand Valley State last Saturday. After the loss, Findlay has a 4-5 record overall and in GLIAC play and are currently in fourth place in the South Division of the conference.
The Lakers had not trailed in a game in the first half all season and had not surrendered a single point in the first quarter of a game. Findlay accomplished both of those feats as they were on the board first, taking a 7-0 lead early in the game. The game was tied at 14-14 at the half and the Oilers took a three-point lead into the final quarter, but the Lakers scored 14 unanswered points to secure the victory.
Junior Rhys Gervais paced the offense by completing 28-of-41 passing attempts for 263 yards and a pair of scores. His two touchdown passes give him 57 for his career, tying the school record for career touchdown passes at Findlay. He now shares the record with Bo Hurley, who fired 57 for the Oilers from 1994-97.
Junior Jason Moore was Gervais' favorite target as he caught six balls for 117 yards. Senior Dylan Blunk made eight catches for 49 yards and a touchdown while junior Anthony Federico chipped in seven catches for 38 yards and a score.
Junior Chauncey Bridges led the Oilers rushing attack with 98 yards on 15 carries while junior Daouda Sylla rushed the ball 11 times for 57 yards.
Junior Aaron Ivory and sophomore Chiebuka Chukwuneke led the defense with nine tackles apiece.

The Timberwolves
The Northwood Timberwolves began their season with four straight losses including a 28-3 loss to Wayne St. to begin the season. However, after that first week, the next three losses were by a combined 12 points. At 2-7, the Timberwolves find themselves in eight (last) place in the GLIAC North Division and are trying to avoid going 2-9 in a season for the second time in four years.
The Timberwolves offense is putting up 348.4 yards per game which is tenth in the GLIAC. Their 1,129 passing yards are last in the conference while their 2,007 rushing yards are good for fifth.
Northwood is quarterbacked by redshirt freshman Joe Garbarino. He has completed 45 of 106 passes for 765 yards for 95.6 yards per game. Those numbers, along with his 42.5 completion percentage, are last in the GLIAC among starting quarterbacks. His four touchdowns are 13th of 14. He will also run the ball as he is the team's second-leading rusher with 93 carries for 405 yards.
Fellow redshirt freshman Abdul Levy will receive the bulk of the snaps at running back for Northwood. Levy has 86 rushes for 441 yards and four touchdowns. His carries are 17th in the conference while his yards and touchdowns rank him 14th and 15th, respectively.

After setting multiple season records last season, Gervais is again nearing some season marks. This year he has thrown for 2,480 yards, third at Findlay for yards in a season. His 207 pass completions are good for third in a season while his 24 touchdowns are third.
With another solid season coming to an end, Gervais' name can also be found in the career record book. In Oct. 15th win over Hillsdale, Gervais passed Kevin Crooks (2001-04) for the most completions in a career. Gervais currently has 435 passes completed. In Oct. 29th game at Grand Valley, Gervais passed Kevin Crooks (2001-2004) for the most passes attempted in a career. He currently has 695.
Perhaps most impressive is the amount of yards Gervais has thrown for in his short time as the quarterback. On October 8 against Wayne State, Rhys passed Bo Hurley to become the school's all-time leading passer. Gervais currently has 5,833 passing yards.
Gervais is now tied with Bo Hurley (1994-1997) for most passing touchdowns in a career at 57.
In the win over Hillsdale on Oct. 15, Gervais eclipsed the 2,000 yard mark for the 2016 season making him just the second quarterback in UF history to have multiple 2,000 yard passing seasons. The other was Clay Belton who threw for 2,039 in 2011 and 2,329 in 2012.
Senior wide receiver Dylan Blunk ranks second all time at Findlay with 151 receptions after leading the team last year with 65 receptions. He needs to reach 178 to pass Lloyd Henry (2011-14), who caught 177 balls, for first.
Junior Jason Moore is currently third at UF for receiving touchdowns in a season with 12. Rick Hatfield holds the top two spots with 14 and 13 TDs in 1979 and 1978, respectively. He is also in fifth at Findlay for receiving yards in a season. He currently has 952 yards. He needs 19 yards to catch Darrell Ramsey (971 yds. | 1999) and 66 yards to catch Derek Hutchinson (1,018 yds. | 1986).
