Alten and Moore Named Preseason All-American

Lindy's All-DII Teams

Findlay, OH – Two University of Findlay football players have earned preseason all-American honors by Lindy's Sports. Senior offensive lineman Andrew Alten was named first team all-American while senior wide receiver Jason Moore found a spot on the second team. The two are the only players in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) to earn spots on either first or second team.

Last season, Alten appeared and started in ten games for the Orange and Black. He was named first team all-GLIAC and second team all-region. He was an integral piece to an offensive line that paved the way for an offense that produced a 2,500-yard passer, a 1,000-yard receiver, and a 1,000-yard rusher in the same season for the first time in school history.

Jason Moore was critical to the Oilers offense in 2016 and was as consistent a receiver as Findlay has ever seen. He started all 11 games for the Oiler, was named first team all-GLIAC, first team all-region, and honorable mention all-American. On the year, he set school records with 1,115 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. Moore averaged 101.4 yards per game and had seven straight weeks with 100+ receiving yards including a career-high 130 yards on Oct. 8 against Wayne State.

The Oilers will kick off their 2017 season on the road at Tiffin on Thursday, August 31, a team Findlay has beaten 17 straight times, the longest win streak against a single team in school history.
