Jones-Quartey Signs With New York Jets

Findlay, Ohio - In a tweet on Wednesday, October 18, the New York Jets announced the signing of former University of Findlay standout Harold Jones-Quartey to their practice squad. The Jets are the third team that Jones-Quartey has been associated with in the National Football League (NFL) after beginning his career with the Arizona Cardinals and spending the entirety of the 2016 season with the Chicago Bears.

Last season, Jones-Quartey, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from Findlay, played in all 16 games for the Bears and was a starter for 12 of them (he started in four games during the 2015 season). His 2016 resume included 78 total tackles, making him the second-leading tackler on the team. His 66 solo tackles ranked him as eighth in the NFL among players in his position. He had a career-high nine tackles on Oct. 10, 2016 against the Green Bay Packers and had nine tackles on Dec. 4 in a win against San Francisco. He also had one interception and five passes defended.
