Alten spent his collegiate career at the University of Findlay and left as one of the most decorated players in school history. Along with team success that included multiple weeks in the AFCA National Poll and an NCAA Division II Playoffs, Alten's individual success has his name all over Findlay's record book. The Loveland, Ohio native, in his time at UF, was named first team all-conference twice, including being named G-MAC Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2017, earned G-MAC Scholar Athlete of the Year, and earned all-American honors four organizations. In his senior year, his efforts helped lead an Oilers offense that was one of just two teams in the country in any division to post 250+ yards of rushing offense and passing offense (the other was Ohio State).
