Bostic, Niekamp Receive DII Bulletin Awards

Fresh off a dramatic national championship, The University of Findlay men's basketball team swept the 2009 Division II Bulletin postseason honors, the publication announced announced on Tuesday, March 31.

Senior forward Josh Bostic was named the 2009 Division II Bulletin Player of the Year. Bostic, who was the publication's Preseason Player of the Year, scored 18.6 points and grabbed 6.2 rebounds per game for the Oilers. He was named the GLIAC Most Valuable Player after leading Findlay to the conference championship and was also named the MVP of the GLIAC Tournament, Midwest Regional Tournament and the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament.

Findlay head coach Ron Niekamp was named the 2009 Molten/Division II Bulletin Coach of the Year. Niekamp led his Oilers to a perfect 36-0 record and the 2009 national title.

Niekamp, the GLIAC Coach of the Year and Midwest Region Coach of the Year as well, will receive the coveted Molten Gold Trophy Ball for his achievement.
