Parker, Hyde Named All-Region By NABC

Senior guard Marcus Parker and junior guard Nathan Hyde of The University of Findlay men's basketball team were each named First Team All-Midwest Region by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on Wednesday, March 17.

Parker averaged 15.1 points, 3.3 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game in his final season. The 2007 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Freshman of the Year ends his career with 1,490 points, which ranks 13th all-time at UF.

Hyde averaged 18.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.9 assists per game in his junior season. The 2010 GLIAC Tournament MVP has now scored 1,117 career points, which ranks 36th all-time.

The junior guard from Liberty Benton High School also set a school record during the year with 95 three pointers made and set GLIAC Tournament records for most points in a series (84), most three pointers in a series (15) and most free throws made without a miss (23).

His 570 points as a junior is the ninth highest all-time for a single season with the Oilers.

Both players earned first team all-conference honors and both were named to the GLIAC all-tournament team as they helped the Oilers achieve a 24-7 record on the year.
