Hyde Named GLIAC Player of the Week

Junior guard Nathan Hyde of The University of Findlay men's basketball team was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division Player of the Week on Monday, February 15 for the second time this season.

Hyde led the Oilers to a split on the road last week by averaging 29.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He also hit 56.8 (21-of-37) percent of his field goal attempts and drained 92.3 (12-of-13) percent of his attempts from the free throw line.

In the Oilers 69-65 loss to Northwood, Hyde had a team-high 25 points and then followed with a career-high 34 points in the Oilers 101-99 triple overtime win against Wayne State.

13 of Hyde's career-high in points came in the extra sessions against the Warriors.

On the year, the junior guard is averaging 17.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

He has also drained a team-high 61 triples on the year and is ranked first in the GLIAC in free throw shooting percentage, hitting 90.2 percent of his attempts.
