#13 Oilers Smash Boards in 86-58 Win

The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked 13th in the nation, pounded the offensive glass in an 86-58 win over Notre Dame College on Monday, Nov. 26 in Croy Gymnasium.

The Oilers racked up an incredible 34 offensive rebounds and held a 55-36 advantage on the boards in the game.  They also forced 22 turnovers and came away with 14 steals on a night in which they struggled to shoot the ball inside the three point line.

Findlay connected on only 34.7 percent (26-of-75) of their field goal attempts, but drained 12-of-28 (42.9%) shots from behind the three point line.  They also held the Falcons to a 38.6 percent (22-of-57) shooting clip in the victory.

Junior forward Greg Kahlig led four Oilers players in double figures with 18 points and 12 rebounds.  Kahlig grabbed seven offensive rebounds and also added four assists while making 5-of-11 shots from the field.

Senior guard Aaron Robinson scored 13 points and freshman guard Alphonso Baity came off the bench to contribute 13 points four rebounds and a pair of assists.

Senior forward Jack Smith had his best game of the season with ten points and six boards off the bench while sophomore forward Jake Heagen stuffed the stat sheet with nine points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block.

Eric Dummermuth led the Falcons with ten points and 11 rebounds.

The Oilers, who are now 2-1 on the season, will open Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on Thursday when they host Lake Superior State University at 6 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
