The Series

The Oilers have posted a 23-6 advantage in the all-time series against Ohio Dominican dating back to the 1969-70 campaign when they were victorious by a score of 87-69.

On Jan. 10, the Oilers came away with a 97-58 win over Ohio Dominican in Croy Gymnasium.  Greg Kahlig led the Oilers with 22 points while Aaron Robinson had 12 points.  Jack Smith and Brad Piehl also reached double figures with 11 points apiece and they each grabbed five rebounds as well.

The Oilers hold a commanding 37-8 advantage in the all-time series against the Dragons dating back to the 1926-27 campaign when Tiffin won 22-21.

The University of Findlay

The Oilers dug themselves too big of a hole on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Hillsdale College as they fell 56-51 to the Chargers.

Findlay fell behind by 12 at the half and then watched the Chargers build a 20-point lead seven minutes into the second period.  The Oilers then chipped away at Hillsdale's lead, cutting the lead to three at 52-49 with just under a minute to play on a couple of free throws by Alphonso Baity.

After a steal by Jack Smith, Greg Kahlig grabbed an offensive rebound and scored to make the score 52-51 with only seven seconds to play.  The Chargers would then hit two free throws on the ensuing possession to push the lead to three.  They would then foul sophomore forward Jake Heagen before a three point shot could be attempted, sending him to the line for a one-and-one.  Heagen missed the first and the Chargers grabbed the rebound, adding a pair of free throws at the end to account for the final margin.

Kahlig and Aaron Robinson led the team with ten points apiece.

Heagen added nine points, Smith had eight points, four rebounds and two steals and Baity conributed seven points in the loss.

Dylan Kaufman and Brad Piehl each had five boards apiece in the game.
