#11 Oilers Cruise to 105-50 Win

The #11 Findlay Oilers men's basketball team won their first game of the year 105-50 against Marygrove College on Saturday, Nov. 9 in Croy Gymnasium.

The Oilers built a 20-2 lead in the first five minutes of the game and never looked back as they cruised to the victory.

Findlay held a 60-16 advantage in points in the paint and got 62 points from their bench in the win.  They connected on 50 percent (42-of-84) of their field goal attempts and grabbed 59 rebounds in the game.

Senior forward Greg Kahlig and freshman guard Austin Gardner led six Findlay players in double figures with 14 points apiece.

Kahlig also added eight rebounds and three assists in 15 minutes while Gardner grabbed five boards and dished out two assists in the game.

Red-shirt freshman center Quaran Jones narrowly missed a double-double in his first game for the Oilers with 12 points and nine rebounds while freshman guard Ricardo Smith stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block.

Junior forward Jake Heagen contributed 11 points, three rebounds and three steals and freshman forward Tyler Stern-Tucker had ten points and five boards.

Sophomore guards Alphonso Baity and Dylan Kaufman each contributed seven points apiece in the win as well.

The Oilers will now prepare to face Cedarville University on Nov. 14.  The game is scheduled to tip at 7:30 p.m. in Cedarville, Ohio.
