Kaufman Leads #15 Oilers to 114-82 Win Over Falcons

The 15th-ranked Oilers men's basketball team topped the 100-point plateau for the second time this season as they defeated Notre Dame (Ohio) College by a score of 114-82 on Dec. 21 in Croy Gymnasium. 

The Oilers, who improved to 7-1 on the year with the victory, shot 55.7 percent (39-of-70) from the floor and connected on 53.8 percent (14-of-26) of their three point tries.  They also handed out 28 assists and their 114 points were the most a Findlay team has scored since they defeated St. Mary's (Mich.) by a score of 120-70 on Dec. 15, 2001.

Sophomore guard Dylan Kaufman led the charge with a career-high 29 points and a career-high tying eight rebounds.  The Berlin, Ohio native drilled 7-of-11 shot attempts from behind the three point line and also chipped in four assists, three steals and a block in 25 minutes of court time.

Senior forward Greg Kahlig added 19 points and a career-high seven assists while junior forward Jake Heagen had 16 points and four boards in the win.

Freshman guard Ricardo Smith reached double figures with ten points while sophomore guard Alphonso Baity stuffed the stat sheet with nine points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block.

Sophomore forward John Staley contributed eight points and five boards while red-shirt freshman center Quaran Jones had eight points and four boards off the bench for Findlay.

The Falcons, who shot 39.3 percent (33-of-84) from the floor, received 23 points from Lawrence DeArmond.

The Oilers will return to the court on Jan. 2 when they travel to Big Rapids, Mich. to take on Ferris State University at 8 p.m.
