Heagen, Kahlig Each Score 28 in Win Over Panthers

The University of Findlay men's basketball team defeated Ohio Dominican University by a score of 91-71 on Thursday, Feb. 6 in Croy Gymnasium to run their record to 16-4 on the year.

The Oilers shot 57.1 percent (36-of-63) from the floor and out-rebounded the Panthers by a 39-26 margin during the game.  They also hit 8-of-19 (42.1%) shot attempts from behind the three point line and received standout performances from senior forward Greg Kahlig and junior forward Jake Heagen, who both ended up with 28 points in the win.

Heagen scored his career-high 28 points on 10-of-12 shooting.  He also set a new career-high with his 5-of-5 shooting from long range and added four rebounds and three assists as well.

Kahlig scored his 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting.  He also stuffed the stat sheet with seven rebounds, five assists and one block.

Red-shirt freshman center Quaran Jones came off the bench to pour in a career-high 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting.  He also recorded three rebounds and a steal in only 14 minutes of action.

The Panthers, who shot 41.9 percent (26-of-62) from the floor, were led by Jesse Ward's 17 points.

The Oilers, who moved to 12-4 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) with the victory, will be back in Croy Gymnasium on Saturday to take on Tiffin University.  The game is scheduled to tip at 3 p.m.
