Oilers Claim 69-60 Win at Cedarville

The University of Findlay men's basketball team captured their first victory of the season with a 69-60 win at Cedarville on Nov. 18. The win gives the Oilers a 1-2 record on the season.

The Oilers hit 42.6 percent (23-of-54) of their field goal attempts and canned 7-of-19 (36.8%) three point tries in the game. They also held a 34-29 advantage on the boards and forced 17 turnovers in the win.

Sophomore guard Martyce Kimbrough led the team with 19 points while sophomore forward Taren Sullivan and senior forward John Staley each scored 13. Staley also added eight rebounds while Sullivan had four boards and a pair of steals.

Senior guard Dylan Kaufman nearly reached double figures with eight points while junior forward Tyler Stern-Tucker had five points and three rebounds.

The Oilers will now return home to host 4th-ranked Bellarmine University on Nov. 24. The home opener will be a "Blackout" beginning at 7:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear black to the game in a show of support for the Oilers.
