#23 Oilers Roll to 113-65 Win

The 23rd-ranked University of Findlay men's basketball team cruised to a 113-65 victory over Olivet College on Dec. 29 in the Croy Physical Education Center. The victory pushed the Oilers record to 10-2 on the season.

The Oilers built a 56-30 lead at the half and never looked back as they shot 59.4 percent (38-of-64) from the floor and 57.1 percent (12-of-21) from behind the three point line. They also converted 25-of-28 (89.3%) attempts from the free throw line and held a 45-24 advantage on the boards in the win.

Sophomore forward Anthony Masterlasco led the way with a season-high 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting while senior forward Alex White produced 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting.

Junior forward Aaron Overhiser nearly recorded a double-double after finishing with 13 points and nine rebounds while sophomore forward Chazz George established a new career-high with 13 points and eight rebounds off the bench in the win.

Freshman forward Deven Stover reached double figures with 12 points to go along with seven boards while freshman guard Ethan Linder had ten points and a career-high six assists.

Sophomore guard Tommy Schmock had a good game running the show for Findlay with seven points and a career-high ten assists while senior guard Trey Smith stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, six rebounds and five assists.

In addition to the win, the Oilers welcomed back their alumni for the day and also celebrated the 10-year anniversary of winning the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship. Many of the team members made it back to campus for the celebration.

Findlay will now prepare for a few road games in West Virginia. They head to Davis & Elkins on Jan. 3 before facing Alderson Broaddus on Jan. 5.
