#23 Oilers Earn 97-73 Win Over Senators

The 23rd-ranked University of Findlay men's basketball team nearly hit triple digits for the second straight game as they came away with a 97-73 win over Davis & Elkins College on Jan. 3 in Elkins, W. Va. The victory gives the Oilers an 11-2 record on the season with a 5-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers shot a blistering 57.4 percent (39-of-68) from the floor and drilled 11-of-31 (35.5%) three point attempts in the win. They also held the Senators to a mere 39.4 percent (26-of-66) from the floor and held a 40-33 advantage on the boards.

Junior forward Aaron Overhiser led the way with 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting. He also grabbed eight rebounds and made two three pointers in the game.

Redshirt freshman guard Ethan Linder came off the bench to contribute a career-high 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting. He also grabbed five rebounds to go along with three assists and three steals.

Sophomore forward Anthony Masterlasco was perfect during the game en route to 17 points while redshirt sophomore forward Chazz George had 13 points and five boards. Masterlasco made all five of his field goal attempts, was 3-for-3 from behind the three point line, and hit all four of his free throw attempts.

Freshman forward Deven Stover continued his solid play with eight points and eight rebounds off the bench while senior forward Alex White had six points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocks.

Marcus Friend led the Senators with 12 points.

The Oilers will now head to Alderson Broaddus University on Jan. 5 for a 4pm contest.
