#14 Oilers Rally For 81-68 Win Over Cedarville

The 14th-ranked University of Findlay men's basketball team overcame a 15-point deficit in the first half to take down Cedarville University 81-68 on Jan. 31 in the Croy Physical Education Center. The win gives the Oilers a 17-3 record on the year with an 11-2 record in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play.

The Oilers struggled putting the ball in the hole for the majority of the first half and found themselves down 29-14 with under six minutes to play. The Oilers would then close the half on a 13-2 run to cut the deficit to four at 31-27. The Oilers then went on a 14-2 in the first five minutes of the second half to open up a 41-33 lead. They never looked back from there as they outscored the Yellow Jackets 67-39 in the final 26 minutes of action.

Findlay shot 42.4 percent (28-of-66) from the floor and came away with 11 steals in the game. They were led by senior forward Alex White, who scored a game-high 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting. White also grabbed nine boards and came away with a pair of steals.

Sophomore guard Tommy Schmock was outstanding as he produced 16 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists while junior forward Aaron Overhiser had 13 points and five boards.

Sophomore forward Chazz George nearly recorded a double-double off the bench with 12 points and a career-high nine rebounds. Sophomore forward Anthony Masterlasco also reached double figures with ten points to go along with five rebounds and five assists.

The Yellow Jackets were led by Conner TenHove's 16 points.

The Oilers will be back at home on Saturday to host Tiffin University at 3pm in their annual Make-A-Wish contest in Croy.
