#8 Oilers Cruise to Big Senior Day Win

The 8th-ranked University of Findlay men's basketball team cruised to an 85-57 senior day win over Trevecca Nazarene University on Mar. 2 in the Croy Physical Education Center. The win pushes the Oilers record to 25-3 on the season with an 18-2 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers, who are the top-seed in the conference tournament, shot 50 percent (34-of-68) from the floor in the victory. They also held a 40-26 advantage on the boards and drained 15-of-32 (46.9%) attempts from behind the three point line.

Senior forward Alex White led the way, scoring 31 points on 13-of-16 shooting. He also made four three pointers and chipped in eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals. White also became the 47th Oilers player to score over 1,000 career points and is currently ranked 43rd all-time with 1,026 points.

Sophomore guard Tommy Schmock finished the game with 14 points and four assists. His four assists gives him 172 this season, which is a new school record. The previous record of 171 was set by former Oilers All-American Dustin Pfeifer during the 2004-05 campaign.

Freshman guard Ethan Linder came off the bench to provide 12 points and four rebounds while senior guard Trey Smith hit three triples en route to nine points. He also added four assists in the win.

The Oilers will now prepare to host a first round tournament game against an opponent that is yet to be determined on Tuesday, Mar. 5. The game will start at 7:30 p.m.
