#21 Oilers Host Ohio Valley in 1st Round

The 21st-ranked Oilers will host Ohio Valley University on Mar. 2 in the opening round of the 2021 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament. The game is scheduled to begin at 6pm inside Niekamp Arena.

Series Information

The Oilers hold a 10-0 advantage in the all-time series against Ohio Valley dating back to the 2002-03 campaign when Findlay came away with a 94-73 win.

The Oilers have won two games against Ohio Valley this year. They won 97-65 on Dec. 13 in Findlay and 76-60 on Feb. 18 in Vienna, W. Va.

In the home win, Anthony Masterlasco paced the team with 21 points, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Ethan Linder added 16 points and seven boards while Nathan Bruns had 13 points and ten rebounds.

Tommy Schmock also reached double figures with ten points to go along with five assists.

In the road win, the Oilers shot 53.4 percent (31-of-58) from the floor in the victory and held a 37-28 advantage on the boards. They also limited the Fighting Scots to a 40.4 percent (21-of-52) shooting clip, but turned the ball over 18 times.

Brady Wildermuth came off the bench to lead the Oilers with 13 points while Schmock, Masterlasco, and Andrew Owens each finished with 12 points apiece. Masterlasco also tied his career-high with ten rebounds.

Bruns also reached double figures with ten points to go along with nine rebounds while Joey Edmonds had eight points and three assists.

Findlay

The Oilers are 17-4 on the season. Senior guard Tommy Schmock leads the team with averages of 13.9 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game.

Sophomore forward Nathan Bruns is averaging 13.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest while senior forward Anthony Masterlasco is also averaging in double figures at 11.3 points per outing.

Ohio Valley

The Fighting Scots are 4-14 on the season and are coming off of a 76-70 win over Trevecca Nazarene on Feb. 27.

Keon Claiborne leads the team in scoring at 17.4 points per game. He is shooting 48.0 percent from the floor and also grabbing 5.2 rebounds per contest.

Cameron Shaw is scoring 14.8 points per game while Parker Black is contributing 12.9 points per outing.

Christian Alley is also scoring in double figures on the year at 11.1 points per game.
