Oilers Fall 84-74 at Ky. Wesleyan

The University of Findlay men's basketball team fell 84-74 to Kentucky Wesleyan College on Dec. 4 in Owensboro, Ky. The loss gives the Oilers a 5-3 record on the season with a 1-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Panthers had a hot hand all afternoon as they connected on 57.4 percent (31-of-54) of their field goal attempts and 61.9 percent (13-of-21) of their three point tries. The Oilers meanwhile made 47.5 percent (28-of-59) of their shot attempts, but made only 5-of-21 (23.8%) attempts from behind the three point line.

Senior forward Anthony Masterlasco led Findlay with 17 points, four assists, and three rebounds while junior forward Nathan Bruns and junior guard Joey Edmonds each had 14 points.

Senior guard Ethan Linder finished with eight points while senior forward Deven Stover had five points and a team-high eight rebounds.

The Panthers were led by Jordan Roland's 24 points. Wyatt Battaile and Jomel Boyd each scored 22 as well.

The Oilers will now return home and prepare to host Cedarville University on Dec. 9 at 7:30pm inside Niekamp Arena.
