Lieber Fires a 67, Leads GLIAC Championship

Junior Dustin Lieber fired a 5-under par score of 67 to lead the Oilers on the first day of the 2014 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship, which wrapped up on Oct. 10 at the Cherry Blossom Golf Club in Georgetown, Ky.

Lieber, who has a two-stroke lead in the tournament, recorded seven birdies in his round of 67.  His 67 was also the second lowest 18-hole score in UF golf history.

As a team, the Oilers are in a tie for seventh place after day one with a 7-over par score of 295. Grand Valley State leads the tournament after firing a 5-under par score of 283.

Senior Jack Kastor and senior Jake North both finished the first day with a 3-over par score of 75 while senior Stephen Sinchok and freshman Justin Roth each carded a 78.

Kastor and North are tied for 38th at the tournament while Sinchok and Roth are tied for 61st.

The tournament will continue tomorrow.
