Findlay in Fifth at Music City Invitational

Nashville, Tenn. – The University of Findlay men's golf team traveled to Nashville, Tennessee to participate in the Music City Invitational hosted by the Hermitage Golf Course and Trevecca Nazarene on Monday, April 1. The event plays host to 18 teams, 17 of which are members of NCAA DII's Midwest Region. Through one round of play, the Oilers are tied for fifth with McKendree after posting a team score of 288 (E). Hillsdale College leads the tournament after a 274 (-14).

For the Oilers, junior Luke Kelly made just one bogey en route to shooting a 69 (-3) in the opening round. Kelly, who made birdie on the fourth, eighth, 12th, and 13th holes, is in a tie for sixth.

Senior Dylan DeWitt made an eagle on the par five, eighth to propel himself to a first round score of 71 (-1) and currently sits in a tie for 14th. DeWitt led the field in par five scoring as he was -4 for the round.

Freshman Tanner Grzegorczyk is tied for 25th in the event after posting a 73 (+1) while junior Sam Griffith is tied for 38th with a 75 (+3).

Freshman Caleb Westfall rounds out the scoring after shooting a 77 (+5) in the first 18 holes.

Competing as an individual is freshman Hunter Foltz who posted a 78 (+6).

Findlay will wrap up action at the Music City Invite tomorrow, April 2.
