Oilers Finish Fifth at Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate

Sevierville, TN- The University of Findlay men's golf team finished the final round of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate on Tuesday, March 16th. The Oilers finished with a three round total of 874 (284, 296, 294) to finish in fifth place overall for the tournament.

For the tournament, the Oilers were led by senior Luke Kelly and junior Tanner Grzegorczyk. Kelly, who had the third best scoring average on the par 3's, fired a 74 (+2) final round to finish with a three day total of 217 (+1) (71,72,74). His score placed him in a tie for 19th. He also led the field in most pars by making a par on 46 of 54 holes.

Grzegorczyk finished in a tie for 19th as well for a three round total of 217 (+1) as well. He combined scores of 68,73,76 for the Oilers. He would go on to have the third most birdies throughout the tournament with 13 birdies total.

Freshman Justin Atkinson finished with a 54-hole score of 219 (+3) good for a solo 28th finish in the tournament. He shot rounds of 71,75,73 for the three days.

Senior Parker Haynes finished in a tie for 42nd after a 54-hole score of 224 (+8) (74,76,74). He would go on to have the second best scoring average on the par fives for the tournament.

Rounding out the Oilers was junior Caleb Westfall who finished in a tie for 65th with a three day total of 233 (+17) (80,80,73).

The Oilers will be back in action at the Lindenwood Invitational in St. Louis, Missouri on Monday, March 22nd through Tuesday, March 23rd.
