Findlay Finishes Seventh in Final Fall Tournament

Hickory, North Carolina- The University of Findlay men's golf team traveled south to the Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Invitational. Findlay completed the tournament today, Oct. 25 with a 54-hole score of 901 (+37). Their rounds of  289 (+5), 287 (+3), and 300 (+12) were good for a seventh place finish. 

Leading the way for the Oilers was senior standout, Tanner Grzegorczyk. Grzegorczyk, who is ranked seventh in Division II per Golfstat, finished fourth at two-under par (214), which landed him a spot on the all-tournament team. This is Grzegorczyk's fourth top five finish as he has not finished outside of the top-five all season.

Assisting Grzegorczyk, was junior Donnie Professori. Professori recorded a 54-hole total of 222 (+6). His round of 72 (E), 76 (+4), and 74 (+2) left him in a tie for twelfth. Following Professori was senior Hunter Foltz. Foltz recorded rounds of 77 (+5), 77 (+5), and 76 (+4) to end the tournament with a 230 (+14) and in a tie for 34th. Caleb Westfall carded rounds of 78 (+6), 80 (+8),  and 78(+6) for a 236 (+20) to finish in a  tie for 52nd. Rounding out the lineup for the Oilers was sophomore Jon Green. Green recorded a 54-hole total of 241 (+25) with rounds of 77 (+5), 85 (+13), and 79 (+7). He finished in a tie for 65th.

Competing as individuals in the event were sophomore Tyler Vallee and senior Jack Soper. Vallee recorded rounds of 73 (+1), 76 (+4), and 73 (+1) to give himself a 54-hole total of 222 (+6). He finished tied for twelfth. Soper's rounds of 75 (+3), 74 (+2), and 79 (+7) to end the tournament with a 228 (+12). He finished tied for 28th.

This tournament concludes their fall season. They will now turn their attention toward their winter preparations for the spring season that will kickoff on Mar. 12, 13, and 14 in Sevierville, Tenn. at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate.
