Findlay Finishes Third at Indy's Ken Partridge Invitational

Noblesville, Ind.- The University of Findlay men's golf team completed play Tuesday, April 11 at the Ken Partridge Invitational. The event is being held at Purgatory Golf Club at 7,097 yards and par 72. Through the three rounds, Findlay finished third at 880 (+16) after scores of 291 (+3), 298 (+10), and 291 (+3). The Oilers finished 30-shots back of the tournament champion- Grand Valley State University who finished the tournament at 16-under par. 

Findlay's top finisher was senior Hunter Foltz who finished tied for eighth with a 54-hole score of 218 (+2). The Van Buren, Ohio native carded rounds of 72 (E), 71 (-1), and 75 (+3). Right behind Foltz was junior Donnie Professori who tied for 13th with a three day total of 221 (+5). Professori recorded rounds of 72 (E), 75 (+3), and 74 (+2). 

Freshman Luke Metzger bounced back today recording the lowest round for the Oilers today, 70 (-2). He finished the tournament with scores of 71 (-1), 82 (+10), and 70 (-2). His 54-hole total of 223 (+7) put him in a tie for 26th. Junior Justin Atkinson finished tied for 40th with a total of 227 (+11). He finished with rounds of 81 (+9), 74 (+2), and 72 (E). Rounding out the lineup for the Oilers was senior Caleb Westfall. Westfall ended the tournament in a tie for 72nd with a three-day total of 238 (+22). He carded rounds of 76 (+4), 78 (+6), and 84 (+12).

Competing as individuals in the event were sophomores Jon Green and Tyler Vallee. Green. Both finished tied for 67th at with a 54-hole total of 237 (+21). Green recorded rounds of 82 (+10), 78 (+6), and 77 (+5). Meanwhile, Vallee carded rounds 73 (+1), 80 (+8), and 84 (+12).

The Oilers will be back in action April 24-26 for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship.
