Findlay Finishes Fourth at G-MAC Championship | Foltz T2

Lexington, Ky.- The University of Findlay men's golf team finished fourth at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship, which wrapped up the stroke play segment of the championship, April 25. The event was held at the 6,831 yard, par 72,  University Club of Kentucky's Big Blue Course- which has hosted the event dating back to 2019. Their rounds of 301 (+13), 292 (+4), and 301 (+13) left them on the outside looking in as both Tiffin and Ashland advanced to the medal match play portion of the tournament.

Leading the Oilers was senior Hunter Foltz. Foltz finished in a tie for second, earning first team all-conference, the first all-conference award of his career. His rounds of 75 (+3), 70 (-2), and 73 (+1) left him at two-over par for the tournament and three shy of the individual champion, Ashland's Andrew Kolar.

Freshman Luke Metzger had a great showing this week, making just his second appearance in the starting lineup for the Oilers this season. He earned first team all-conference honors with his fifth place finish. He recorded rounds of 76 (+4), 70 (-2), and 74 (+2) to finish at four-over par. This is the best finish by a freshman since Caleb Westfall finished in a tie for third in 2019.

Senior Tanner Grzegorczyk finished tied for 24th after carding rounds of 74 (+2), 75 (+3), and 77 (+5). Junior Donnie Professori came in at fifteen-over par for the tournament after recording rounds of 76 (+4), 77 (+5), and 78 (+6). He finished in a tie for 43rd. Rounding out the lineup for the Oilers was junior Justin Atkinson. His rounds of 77 (+5), 78 (+6), 81 (+9) were good for 51st place.

The Oilers will now turn their attention to the NCAA Division II Super Regional that will be held May 11-13 in Winona, Minn.
