Gogolin Gives Oilers Thrilling Win Over Storm

The University of Findlay men's soccer team defeated Lake Erie College 2-1 in double overtime on Friday, October 29 in Painesville, Ohio. The win gives the Oilers a 4-9-3 record on the season with a 2-7-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Tied at 1-1 with only 36 seconds remaining in the second and final overtime, Joey Gogolin found the back of the net when he headed in the ball off of a free kick. Dan Stelletell and Mate Farkas assisted on the game-winning goal.

Gogolin also scored the Oilers first goal of the game at the 38:30 mark, assisted by Nick Pahren.

Matthew Brooks made eight saves in the net for Findlay to pick up the win.

The Oilers will be back in action again on October 31 when they face Ashland University at 2:30 p.m. in Ashland, Ohio.
