The University of Findlay men's soccer team defeated Ohio Valley 2-1 on Wednesday, Sept. 21 in Vienna, W. Va. to chalk up their first win of the season.
Freshman Chris Bailer put the Oilers on the board first in the 42nd minute of the first half.
Findlay didn't waste much time in extending their lead as sophomore Alex Oliver made the score 2-0 just seven minutes into the second half.
The Oilers defense would hold strong until Ohio Valley's Jordan Valentine put his team on the board in the final minutes of the game.
T.J. Newbright and Corey Keister recorded assists for Findlay.
The non-conference win brings the Oiler's record to 1-6 on the year.
Findlay will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 25 when they take on Ohio Dominican in Findlay, Ohio at 3:30.
