Men's Soccer Picked to Finish 7th

2014 GLIAC Preseason Men's Soccer Poll

The University of Findlay men's soccer team was picked to finish seventh in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) this season as the league office unveiled their annual preseason poll on Aug. 21.

Findlay received 14 points in the poll while Tiffin University was tabbed the favorite to win the conference after totaling 44 points and six first place votes.

The Oilers will be looking to improve on their 5-11-1 record from last year and will be led by a pair of juniors, who combined to score 12 goals in 2013. Juniors Mark Sleasman and Ryan Poyle are hoping to continue their success in 2014 as each player earned all-conference honors.

Sleasman returns after being named first team all-conference.  He finished second on the team with five goals and tied for the team lead in assists with five.  He also scored two game-winning goals and finished the year with a total of 15 points.

Poyle returns after leading the team with seven goals. The second team all-conference pick also tied for the team lead with five assists and finished third in the GLIAC with 19 points.
