Findlay Falls to #3 Quincy in Season Opener

Quincy, IL – On Sep. 5, the University of Findlay men's soccer team dropped their first contest of the season in a tightly contested 2-1 loss to the #3 ranked team in NCAA D-2, Quincy University.

Trailing 1-0 after the first half, Findlay tied the match at one when senior Mark Sleasman broke away from the defense and beat the goalie one-on-one and scoring his first goal of the season.

Sophomore goalie Ben Richter took the tough luck loss in the defensive struggle that saw Quincy fire only five shots on goal. He finished the game with one save.

Findlay is back in action tomorrow, Sunday, Sep. 6 as they take on another nationally ranked opponent in the Panthers of Drury University, who enter the contest ranked #23 in the country. That match will begin at 5pm. Live VIDEO will be provided as well as live STATS.
