Sleasman's Hat Trick Powers Oilers to Win

The University of Findlay men's soccer team won 3- 2 against Lake Erie College on Friday, Oct. 9 in Painesville, Ohio. The win gives the Oilers a 6-4 record on the season with a 5-3 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Findlay came back from a losing 1-0 halftime score against Lake Erie.  The storm outshot the Oilers 6:0 in the first half.  However, Findlay came back with a huge rebuttal second half.

The men dominated Lake Erie College capitalizing on their limited 3 shots. Senior captain Mark Sleasman led the Oilers in their win by scoring a hat trick in the game.  All three goals were scored in the second half by Sleasman, the first in the 48th-minute with an assist from freshman Nathan Williams. The remaining goals were scored unassisted by Sleasman in the 62nd and 82nd-minute of the game.

The hat trick takes Sleasman to 6 goals on the season and 13 NCAA points. Sophomore goal keeper Ben Richter takes the win in goal for the Oilers.

The men play their next match on Sunday, Oct 11 on the road verse Ohio Dominican University at 2:30pm.
