The University of Findlay men's soccer team won 3-2 against Ohio Dominican University on Sunday, Oct. 11 in Columbus, Ohio. The win gives the Oilers a 7-4 record on the season with a 6-3 record in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
Ohio Dominican was first to score in the 29th-minute off a penalty shot. Findlay was quick to rebuttal, scoring a minute later when sophomore Bailey Crawford finished his first goal of the season. Crawford scored off of a corner kick from freshman teammate Michael Shaikly. Shaikly now leads the team in assists with 3 on the season.
Senior goal scorer Mark Sleasman finished the remaining two goals for the Oilers in the second half. The unassisted goals now give Sleasman 8 goals on the season and 17 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) points. Sophomore goalkeeper Ben Richter takes the win in goal to increase his record to 4-2.
The Oilers are back in action in an away game Friday, Oct. 16 at Malone University in Canton, Ohio at 3:30pm.
