Oilers Fall to Dragons 3-1 in Final Match of the Season

The University of Findlay men's soccer team lost 3-1 in their final game of the season against Tiffin University on Friday, Oct. 30 at DeHaven Field.  This loss gives the team a season record of 9-7-1 with a 7-6-1 record in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers created many opportunities in the match, starting all their seniors on the last game of the season. Findlay totaled 17 shots in the game against the Dragons.  Senior captain Mark Sleasman capped off his scoring career when he finished a goal in the 27th-minute of play.  Sleasman ended his career with 11 goals scored for Findlay this season. Freshman Michael Shaikly earned the assist on the goal, giving him 7 for the season. Senior Jordan Gozelski also had shots on goal for the team.

With a halftime score of 1-1 the Oilers continued to battle against the Dragons, with a win moving them into GLIAC tournament play. Unable to capitalize on their opportunities the Oilers fell behind in the second half when Tiffin scored in the 65th and 76th-minute. The loss ends the season for the men.
