Oilers Beat by Cavaliers in Overtime

North Canton, OH-The University of Findlay men's soccer team was defeated by Walsh University in the first conference game of the season in overtime 3-2 Friday, September 9.  This loss gives the Oilers a 1-2-0 record overall and a 0-1-0 conference record. 

The Oilers and the Cavaliers finished the first half with no score in the game.  The Oilers outshot the Cavaliers 7-1 at the end of the first half. 

In the 65^th minute, the Oilers capitalized on a goal from junior Peyton Shroeder with the assist from freshman Josh Dickinson. 

Walsh countered with two goals in the 72^nd and 78^th minutes to put the Oilers down 2-1.

Thirty minutes into the second half, sophomore Michael Shaikly received a game changing red card that left the Oilers down a man for the last fifteen minutes of the half. 

With less than three minutes to go in the game, Junior Peyton Shroeder scored again in the 87^th minute to tie the Cavaliers 2-2 to end the half.

In the second overtime, Walsh scored with ten minutes to go to end the game 3-2. 

The Oilers will take the field again on Sunday, September 11 at Lake Erie College at 1:00pm.
