Owensboro, KY The University of Findlay men's soccer team won a G-MAC contest at Kentucky Wesleyan College on Tuesday, September 19. The win moves the Oilers to 5-0 (4-0) on the season while the Panthers fall to 0-5-1 (0-3-1).

The lone goal of the first half was scored by Findlay when junior Andrew Bricker found the back of the net with a header on an assist from freshman Alex Kerstetter. It was the first goal of the year for Bricker and Kerstetter's second assist of the season.

The first half Oilers as they outshot the Panthers 20 to six, with 10 of those being on goal. Findlay had three corner kick opportunities and forced the Kentucky Wesleyan goalie to make nine saves.

It was all Findlay in the second half again as they grew their lead to the eventual 2-0 decision when junior Jake van der Ven scored in the 64th minute of the half. This was his first goal of the season.

The Oilers ended with 35 total shots with 18 of those being on goal. Senior goal keeper Ben Richter earned the victory and recorded eight saves on the night.

Findlay will be back on the pitch this Thursday, September 21 when they travel to play G-MAC opponent Ohio Valley University.
