Burton and Dickinson Earn D2CCA All-Region Awards

D2CCA Release

Findlay, Ohio – Two players who were instrumental to the Oilers' men's soccer team's success in 2017 have been named by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) as All-Midwest Region performers. The list, released on Wednesday, Nov. 15, included junior Josh Burton and sophomore Josh Dickinson. Burton earned first team honors while Dickinson snagged a spot on the second team.

Josh Burton, also named first team all-Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), was crucial to the Oilers' success all season. Burton fired off a school-record 96 shots this season and, through the regular season, was the league leader in shots, shots on goal, goals, and points. Burton ended the year with 12 goals, two of which were game-winners, and four assists for a total of 28 points scored. Burton is the first men's soccer player to earn D2CCA First Team All-Region since Jacob Schramm earned the award in 2005.

Josh Dickinson, who scored just one goal in his freshman season, closed the 2017 season with a flurry to earn the first postseason award of his college career. The Doncaster, England native closed the year with goals in seven of the team's final ten games and finished the season with nine goals. He also added eight assists to finish second on the team with 26 points. He best performance of the season was a two-goal, two-assist game on Oct. 5 against Walsh, a 7-2 victory for the Oilers.

It is the first time in school history that two players have been named D2CCA All-Region in the same season.
