Findlay Drops Fourth Straight

Canton, Ohio – The University of Findlay men's soccer team traveled to Canton for a road contest against the Malone Pioneers on Thursday, Sep. 27 and lost by a score of 1-0. With the loss, the fourth in a row for the Oilers, Findlay is now 2-7 on the season with a 2-4 record in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play while Malone improves to 3-6-1 overall and 3-4-1 in league action.

Findlay blasted 30 shots in the contest, their most in a game since taking 37 attempts against Kentucky Wesleyan on Oct. 21 last season, but only had six shots on goal, none of which found the back of the net.

Malone scored the lone goal of the day 14 minutes into the contest when Jake Martell beat Findlay goalkeeper Nathanael Yoder with a shot to the upper left corner of the net to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead.

Sophomore Josh Hales led the team with six shots, two of which were on goal, while junior Josh Dickinson and freshman Joey Buscani had five shots apiece.

Yoder, who was in the net for all 90 minutes, allowed one goal and made two saves against the Pioneers who managed just eight shots in the contest.
