Wayne State Knocks Off Findlay
The University of Findlay swimming and diving teams fell to Wayne State in Detroit, Michigan on Friday, January 11. The women's team was defeated 134-89 and the men's team fell 121-45 against the Warriors.
Kaley Holmstrom paced the Oilers with a record setting performance in the 100 breast with a new Findlay time of 1:07.18. Holmstrom placed second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:13.68.
The 200 free relay team of Annie Currin, Ailsa Hershaw, Molly Cade, and Jillian Herbst took gold, clocking in at 1:43.27. Currin finished first in the 500 free (5:19.29) as Kate Fisher placed second in the same event (5:34.27).
Cade took second in the 100 fly with a time of 58.85. In the 100 back, Hershaw and Kacie Miller placed first (1:03.43) and second (1:12.51), respectively. Kari Lemanski finished second in the 100 breast (1:16.35).
On the men's side, Colton Sayers took the gold in the 500 free (5:00.32). Diego Santos finished second in the 200 IM, clocking in at 2:05.04. Santos, Garrett Gardner, Anthony Calvillo, and Jay Clinger placed first in the 200 free relay at 1:35.87.
The Oilers will host Ohio Wesleyan on Friday, January 18. The meet is slated for 6 p.m.
