Guagenti Leads Oilers At National Championship

The University of Findlay men's and women's outdoor track and field teams completed the first day of competition at the 2011 NCAA Division II National Championship on Thursday, May 26 in Turlock, California.

John Guagenti led the teams as he placed seventh in the preliminary round of the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.69 to reach the finals on Saturday.

Randi Depp was 13th in the hammer throw at 172'01 while Erin Calvelage placed 16th in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:41.33.

The event will continue through Saturday.
