Oilers Complete Final Day Of Sea Ray Relays

The University of Findlay men and women's track and field teams completed the final day of the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. and the Jessie Owens Track Classic in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, April 14th.

Derrick Vicars finished fourth in the hammer throw in Columbus with a NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 62.46m and finished third in the shot put with an NCAA automatic qualifying heave of 18.25m.

Jessica Rowland had a third place finish of her own in the hammer throw with an NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 58.61m and an eighth place finish in the shot put with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 13.80m.

At the Sea Ray Relays, Cody Crockett set a new school record in the javelin throw with a third place, NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 204'11.00, while Cory Vales placed second in the high jump with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 6'10.75.

John Guagenti finished fifth in the 400-meter dash showcase with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 47.78 and teamed with Tim Sanders, Curtis Smithey and Dillon Webster in the 4x400-meter relay showcase to place sixth with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:13.96.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Webster, Joe Guerra, Jacob Hayes and Just Eilerman placed sixth with a time of 8:00.57, while Eilerman finished eighth in the 1,500-meter showcase with a time of 3:57.18.

The men and women's track and field teams will be back in action on April 20th to compete in the All-Ohio Championship in Oxford, Ohio.
