Vicars Ranked 9th in the Nation in the Shot Put

A number of collegiate track & field stars permeate the first Track & Field News USATF formchart released this week, which is an attempt to predict the finishing order of the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships and potential IAAF World Outdoor Championships team bids.

Oilers senior Derrick Vicars was on this list, ranking ninth in the shot put.

Individuals ranked in the top three would qualify them for the IAAF World Outdoor Championships in Moscow, Russia, so long as they have attained the World "A" standard in their events.

Vicars is also ranked second in the nation in the shot put at the collegiate level across all divisions.
