The University of Findlay men and women's indoor track and field teams were rewarded for their success at the Findlay Open on Jan. 31 as three individuals took home player of the week honors from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Junior Dillon Webster was named the men's track athlete of the week after taking first place in the 800-meter run with a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:52.53.

Fellow junior, Justin Welch, took home field athlete of the week honors after placing third in the elite weight throw competition.  Welch achieved a NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 72'02.25, which also tied his school record.  The throw is the longest throw in the nation among NCAA DII competitors.
