Dragons Sweep Oilers

The University of Findlay softball team lost a pair of games on the road to Tiffin University on Sunday, May 1. The Oilers fell 9-2 in the first game and then lost 9-1 in the second to give them a 23-23-1 overall record and an 11-20 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

In the first game, Brittany Dauterman hit a pair of doubles and drove in a run while Jackie Messersmith took the loss after allowing three runs on four hits in 4.1 innings of work.

In the second game, Lauren Orban was saddled with the loss after allowing five runs on four hits in two innings of action.

Jaci Messmer went 2-for-3 at the plate and singled home the Oilers lone run with a single in the first.

The Oilers will play Hillsdale College tomorrow at 4:30 pm to decide the second wild card in the 2011 GLIAC Tournament.
