Oilers Fall To SCAD, ODU in Savannah

The University of Findlay softball team lost a pair of games on Friday, March 11 as they fell 3-2 to Savannah School of Art and Design and 7-2 to Ohio Dominican in Savannah, Georgia. The losses give the Oilers a 7-3 record on the year.

In the Oilers loss to SCAD, Taylor Kessinger singled home Jackie Messersmith in the seventh to tie the game at 2-2, but the host school scored in the bottom of the frame to win the game.

Tawna Whited took the loss by allowing three runs, two earned, in 6.1 innings of action.

Jenna Motuza led the team at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Kara Hochevar hit a two-run homerun in the loss to the Panthers, but it wasn't enough as Alyssa Shultz was saddled with the loss after allowing five runs on six hits in three innings of work.

The Oilers will be back in action again on March 15 when they host Malone University in a twin bill beginning at 3:30 pm.
