Coppus, Dauterman Earn All-GLIAC Honors

Senior first baseman Calli Coppus and sophomore pitcher/designated hitter Brittany Dauterman of The University of Findlay softball team were named honorable mention all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) on Friday, May 6.

Coppus, who was an honorable mention all-league pick last year as well, led the team with a .410 batting average. She also tallied a team-high 48 hits and drove in 16 runs during the 2011 season.

Dauterman, who was named second team all-conference in 2009, hit .400 on the year with five home runs and 28 runs-batted-in despite playing in only 27 games. She also clubbed nine doubles and had a slugging percentage of .725.

Ferris State's Chelsea Morris was named the player of the year while Saginaw Valley State's Jade Fulton captured pitcher of the year honors.

Grand Valley State's Miranda Cleary was tabbed as the top freshman and Tiffin's Jeff Nickerson earned the top coaching honor.
