The University of Findlay softball team lost a pair of home games to Ashland University on Saturday, March 31. The Oilers fell 5-1 in the first game and 7-2 in the second contest. With the losses, Findlay drops to 12-11 overall with a 3-5 mark in conference action.

Starting pitcher Brittany Dauterman went 2-for-2 at the plate in the opener, including her solo shot over the left field fence to give Findlay their only run of the match.

Dauterman took the loss, giving up five runs on nine hits and four walks. She also fanned five Eagles in her seven innings on the mound.

In the second game, Tawna Whited was saddled with the loss after allowing seven runs on nine hits. Whited gave up five walks but produced two strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Carly Borders had a double for the second contest while catcher Morgan Arnold generated two singles for the Oilers. Both Arnold and Jacki Messersmith had an RBI.

The Oilers will host Ashland University for another doubleheader tomorrow, April 1, starting at noon.
